Architects with Museum and Cultural Experience

Some of our Previous Experience. The Design Museum, Holon, Tel Aviv, Israel

Ron Arad is equally celebrated as an Architect, Artist and Product Designer, and operates from a curvatious, fabric roofed and wobbly floored studio space in Chalk Farm, North London. Ron’s artistry, approach to materials and command of curved geometry offered a unique education and the opportunity to work on some spectacular and high profile projects around the world.

Perhaps the most celebrated of these projects was the Design Museum Holon, just outside Tel Aviv. The world’s first purpose built design museum, which opened in 2011 and has been hosting exceptionally curated exhibitions ever since. Ron’s ambition was to create a building that could appear on a postage stamp, as well as a spectacular set of formal and informal gallery spaces on a modest budget.

Working closely with Project Director Asa Bruno and with Ron, James worked on the all phases of the project from concept design, production of planning documentation and detail design to site supervision of the prefabricated steelwork in Italy and on site in Israel as the building took shape.
